Services: Children & Teenager Support

Helping children and teens thrive through neurodevelopment, movement, and nervous system support.

Introduction

At Performants, I work with children and teenagers to support brain development, nervous system regulation, movement, learning, and emotional wellbeing.

Many parents wonder if this approach can help their child, the answer is yes, whether your child has ADHD, sensory challenges, speech or teeth issues, or difficulty with movement and coordination.

Who This Support Is For

  • Emotional regulation and anxiety.
  • Sensory processing differences.
  • Attention, focus, and learning challenges (ADHD included)
  • Coordination, balance, and posture issues.
  • Retained primitive reflexes.
  • Nervous system overwhelm or shutdown.
  • Crowding of teeth, narrow palate, or mouth-breathing.
  • Speech clarity, articulation, or oral motor coordination challenges.
  • Developmental delays or uneven development.

Tip: You don’t need a diagnosis to start, support is for children with a wide range of needs.

How I Work With Children

  • Gentle, play-based, and child-led sessions.
  • Focused on helping the nervous system feel safe and organised.
  • Builds stronger brain-body connections, improving confidence, focus, and regulation.
  • No pressure, no force, sessions are designed to feel fun and engaging.

What Sessions May Include

  • Primitive Reflex Integration (RMTi-based)
  • Movement, balance, and coordination exercises.
  • Sensory and nervous system regulation activities.
  • Visual & vestibular support.
  • Breathing and calming strategies.
  • Simple, practical home activities for parents.

Breathing & Speech

Many parents are surprised to learn that jaw development, breathing, posture, and speech are closely linked to early movement patterns and nervous system organisation.

When foundational reflexes or postural systems haven’t fully integrated, children may compensate through the jaw, tongue, and neck, leading to:

  • Crowded teeth.
  • Mouth breathing.
  • Speech or articulation challenges.
  • Neurodevelopmental support complements dental and speech therapy by strengthening brain-body coordination.

ADHD & Attention Support

For children who struggle with focus, attention, or hyperactivity:

  • Neurodevelopmental movement patterns.
  • Primitive reflex integration.
  • Sensory regulation strategies.
  • Parent-guided strategies for home.
  • This approach helps the nervous system organise and improves focus, learning readiness, and confidence.

Parents Are Part of the Process

  • Receive clear, practical guidance you can use at home.
  • Learn why your child reacts the way they do.
  • Gain confidence in supporting their nervous system and development.

Individualised Support

Every child is unique.

The number of sessions depends on your child’s needs, nervous system capacity, and goals.

Collaborations with other therapists or health professionals are made when appropriate
